Malaysia as data centre hub

Friday, April 8th, 2011

To make Malaysia as data centre hub, besides offering cheaper office rent and electricity tariff, we need to offer Internet services with international qualities, e.g. 99.9% up-time, reliable speed, responsive after-sales service. However Internet services with international qualities in Malaysia is not prevalent yet. To solve reliability and speed issue of Internet in Malaysia, one solution is use an ISP in Malaysia that route traffic to Singapore. Main reason is Singapore has more submarine cable landing points. With more landing points, more Internet bandwidth is available by different upstream providers at lower cost.
